Display settings changed and will not fix

Can you post the XF86Config's Screen section? There you will find the
resolutions available for your X session.

You can also use the key combination ctrl-alt-+ and ctrt-alt-- to change the
screen resolution on the fly. (I can't do it on my PB 3400c but it works on
my i386 boxes). The Display subsection shows the resolutions it will change
through.
