Sound problem

I finally got  around to  this  .... and it  works -- thanks!

I had to log in as root ("command not found" logged in as user). And 
"modprobe dmasound_pmac" did not go straight to a prompt but returned 
results first (can't remember what). The subsequent "lsmod" now 
listed all three lines.

The working sound carried through to my user account with no further 
trickery ...
