epson 860, recognized and send pages to print, but no print out

I have an epson stylus 860, i have cups, gnome-print, installed

the printer is recognized, in the first usb printer port,
everytime i send a document to print, it goes through without problems, 
but the printer itself does not do anything.

i know some people have had problems printing with an epson, but has 
anyone found  a fix?
are there some files missing?

any ideas??

this is the last thing i need to have linux completely handle my 7300 
fulltime....
