Can't use more than 256 colors

The first time I installed YD 3.0 I had a yellow cast to my monitor. It was
suggested that I reinstall, so I did. The yellow cast is gone, but now if
the monitor is set too thousands or millions of colors the colors go wacky.

I'm wondering if my configuration has something to do with my problems. My
system is:

Motorola Starmax 3000/180 upgraded to G3/120
160MB RAM
Onboard video is probably ATI Mach64 264VT rev 40 w/2meg video RAM
ATI Xclaim3D Mach64 215GT rev 41 w/4meg video RAM
Gateway Vivitron 15 monitor on the onboard video
Gateway Vivitron 1776 monitor on the PCI card

When proving for the video card, the installer (and the control panel) both
list the ATI Mach64 264VT as being the video card, but 4 meg instead of 2,
which is why I'm not certain which is the onboard video and which is the PCI
card. The monitor that works in Linux is connected to the onboard video (I
want to get both working in Linux, but that's a problem for another day).

I'm not sure what else to tell you. I've looked at the XF86Config file, and
it appears to list both cards. If there is any other information I can give,
ask and I'll try to find it.

Someone asked the other day if there is a way to change the video settings
without reinstalling. I never saw an answer, and I've discovered that there
is. In the system settings menu there is a display control panel that allows
you to change settings. You have to logout and back in for them to take
effect, but it beats a reinstall of the OS. :)

Thanks,
Bert
