15" iMac (Lamp) install problem

I have a 600MHz Graphite iMac which does just about the same thing
during installation. You'd think YDL would be capable of a graphical
installation on such a popular Mac (only two years old!), but it is not.

I'm not entirely sure this will work for you, but in order to get it
working, I had to do a text install and NOT use the option to start X
automatically. If you configure YDL to boot straight into graphical
mode, perhaps you'll end up staring at a black screen like I did so many
times before just sticking with the text log-in.
