Default tty not found.. Power Mac 5400

Howdy All,
I'm still trying to get the YDL to load on my Power Mac 5400.  The system
seems to lock up at
/sbin/loader
I also note about 5 lines above this message that a default tty is not 
found.  I suspect
it's turing off this display/keyboard and turning to some default that's 
not showing
anything on the screen.  Does any one know a kernel parameter to pass from
BootX that would lock in this default dispaly/keyboard?  Or does any one 
know
what the Power Mac 5400 dispaly/keyboard is supposed to be??
