Can't recognize CD, at all....

Hi Grant:

Say, did you burn your ISO images under the "Disk
Image" option in Toast? (a HowTo at the YDL site
explains this)

I noticed that you said 2.3 (Dayton, right?). But you
also said **"ISOs"** {plural} . I installed 2.3, and
there is only 1 YDL 2.3 ISO. (YDL 3.0 has three
install discs). Perhaps you are using another - or
some second/incompatible CD. Correct me if I'm wrong
(anyone else reading) but TTBOMK, the 2.3 install is a
single-CD install. (the updates prm.ppc's do occupy
another CD's worth of space, but that's not part of
the install.)

Also, did you let Toast verify your burn (after
completing the burn) ?

Did you check to see that disk mounts normally when
you start up under MacOS (you should be able to open
it in MacOS and see a whole ground of files - not just
one big file)?

I assume that you have OS 8 or OS 9 running on that
6400. Under the HowTo's there is a report of someone
installing YDL (2.3, I think, on a 7500, running OS
7.5 - might deserve a look)

I installed 2.3 on my 7300/233MHz, just to get the
hang of it. I like it - nice that you can tinker
under the hood now on very-legacy machines that OSX
left out in the cold. I am becoming more and more
convinced that I should load it onto my spare G3
Minitower.

Good Luck,

Dave
