I have a similar problem:

Under OSX Cups, I can see and print to my HP 940c.

Using a Red Hat Linux, I can see and print to the same
printer from an HP.

But YDL on my powerbook cannot see or print.

The powerbook is a wallstreet, and the USB is via a
PC-Card.
