I am trying to get Yellow dog installed on an 300 Mhz iBook. At first it
was booting okay from the CD but hanging on some GNU doc reader. I
figured it was the CD and burnt another, now it is telling me
'import site' failed; use -v for traceback

It hangs for a looong time and then:
Traceback (most recent call last):
   File "/usr/bin/anaconda", line 70, in ?
import signal, traceback, string, isys, iutil, time
   File "/usr/lib/anaconda/iutil.py", line 16, in ?
import types, os, sys, isys, select, string, stat, signal
ImportError: No Module named select
install exited abnormally
sending termination signals...done
sending kill signals...done
disabling swap...
unmounting filesystems...

you may safely reboot your system
Any help?
