changing home directory location

The subject is a summary, but here is what I am intending to do:

I am currently setting up a YDL G3 on a 20 GB hard drive. Sometime, around a
month or so from now, I plan on getting a 80 GB hard drive. I want to, when
the time comes, switch the home folder to this new drive. How hard is this
to do? How would I go about doing it?

Ideally, I just want to keep all my prefs, and just put users over on the
new drive.
