Subsys Locked

Hi Guys n Gals

Itsy bitsy problem with daemon services getting locked after (or before a
restart)

First encountered this with httpd, however, having started using vsftpd I
have found the same happening with that. Is this a configuration problem?
And if so, what can I do to get around it?

Historically I have cd'd to /var/lock/subsys/ and rm'd the offending
services so I could start them up.

Obviously I'd rather not have to do this.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.
