I got the GUI to load with this command " Xautoconfig --save" after =20
"Xautoconfig --fbdev" failed.
My problem is that now though I can make out the Yellow Dog interface,=20=

the colour is poor and it is really fuzzy and the typeface is difficult=20=

to read.

I tried to run - configure as root user but was told
that it was an incorrect command? Do the instructions in the link have
to be modified in some way first?

 Thanks again.

GUI will not load after installation</smaller></fontfamily>=20

<fontfamily><param>Lucida Grande</param>Hi,</fontfamily>=20

<fontfamily><param>Lucida Grande</param>I just went through the
installation using the three installation disks on my 800 Mhz iBook
Combo Drive without any apparent problems until I rebooted and
eventually I got this message</fontfamily>=20

<fontfamily><param>Lucida Grande</param>"I cannot start the X Server
(your graphical interface). It is likely it is not set up correctly.
Would you like to view the X server output to diagnose the
problem?"</fontfamily>=20

<fontfamily><param>Lucida Grande</param>When I tab to yes, I get the
following,</fontfamily>=20

<fontfamily><param>Lucida Grande</param>"Would you like me to try the
X configuration program? Note that you will need the root password for
this."</fontfamily>=20

<fontfamily><param>Lucida Grande</param>I entered this and then i am
told that the dccprobe failed.</fontfamily>=20

<fontfamily><param>Lucida Grande</param>And then I am in what I assume
is Yellow Dog without a GUI.....scary for me :)</fontfamily>=20

<fontfamily><param>Lucida Grande</param>Anybody tell me what I can do
to launch the GUI? I am in uncharted territory (for me).</fontfamily>=20

<fontfamily><param>Lucida Grande</param>If you have an idea, please
spell it out in easy steps!!!</fontfamily>=20
