Yaboot and 10.3 Panther

You have to use yaboot whether it loads directly at startup or after
holding down the option key. It is the program that tells the computer
where the kernel is and how to load it. If you want to restore yaboot
to loading on every boot you can try zapping the pram by holding down
command-option-P-R until it chimes three times or boot YDL by holding
down the option key and then when you get booted open a terminal and as
root run ybin -v to rebless the bootstrap partition.
