need help with SCSI tape drive

/var/log/dmesg says nothing about the tape drive.

when i use the command dmesg, it says its at /dev/st0

The Hardware Browser says there is a tape drvie at /dev/st (no 0), 
driver: none, or built in, and manufacturer: unknown. (its a HP 
SureStore, not sure about the model, but its a DDS-3 tape) below are the 
last few lings of the dmesg command output.
