starting mol probs

Hello, I am running ydl 4 on a dual boot Pismo g3 running osx and when I
use the terminal with this command 'startmol -x' in ydl it opens up a
full screen that is black with an insertion point blinking, and that is
all. What do I do at the prompt because it is unresponsive to anything I
type. Is there some configuration that I have not installed or over
looked?
