modem on Titanium powerbook

Hi, I've got a question for those of you with Titanium powerbooks.  
I've installed YDL and am enjoying it.
However, it won't recognize my modem even though information on the web 
indicates that the modem
should be recognized.  Have you encountered the same problem? Best,
