It's a not a driver thing.  This much i know.  I just recently installed 
YDL4 on my old eMac.  You just have to change the VertRefresh in the 
xFree86.conf file, which I believe is found in /etc/X11.  Here's the 
post that helped me.

someone put more changes in the file which is nice too.
I believe this will get things going.  If not let me know and I'll see 
if I can dig up the other stuff that helped me get things going.
