ydl 4 sound & internet do not work

I'm guessing he has an iMac Rev A (given the 'old rev a' comment ;-)
and it's a NewWorld machine (the Beige G3 (& AIO) desktops were the
only OldWorld G3 desktops).

Doesn't the first iMac pose a problem to the ethernet driver (it seems
to me this has come up before on this list). As for sound... I haven't
bothered to get it working as Linux is next to useless for audio/video
(on Mac) since most important codecs aren't available for PPC :-(.
