Why is it so hard to get an proper keyboard layout for swedish keyboard

Hi.

Sitting here with an Powerbook Aluminium 12", 1.33 Ghz version.
It has swedish keyboard layout.

In macosX, it works as an charm, but in Linux (YDL) i cannot get my  
keyboard layout to work at all, i need to get @ and other special  
chars to work. Any ideas?


Why has YDL NOT done anything about this before? If yhey sel an Linux  
that is special for PPC, why does they not put some time to  
"port"/"setup" the different powerbook layouts properly?????
