G5 Dual support

In the interests of creating a thread that is separate from the flames 
that will likely spread, here are a few actual questions from someone 
else who wants to know about the dual 2.7 GHz incompatibilities.

Did Dru's message about kernel panics and the like actually reflect what 
one would expect from attempting to run YDL 4.0.1?
Is there planned support for this G5 model?
Any thoughts about when it may happen?
Does the purchased support version have the same compatibility issues?
