O.k., I'll chime in here. Dustin's false .iso has happened a number of 
times on my OS X Pismo laptop. At first, it fooled me, too; I thought 
that somehow huge amounts of code could be squashed into a few k. 
Wrong. I suspect what happens, is the initial .iso file structure is 
dropped onto my desktop with the expectation that it will fill with the 
remaining code. But the throughput isn't sufficient to really get it 
going.
