Have a great time!  I hope you take David's suggestion and try e17.
I've always preferred Enlightenment.
Kai has always loved KDE, until e17 came to be.
People tend to favor their window and desktop managers the way others 
maintain their food preferences.
For someone like Kai to switch to e17, and "not look back" says alot 
regarding what's been done.

Give it time.  Give yourself time.  Explore.  Remember a little 
strangeness is good.
