I think there was a thread a while back about using the Fedora Core 5
repositories. I haven't tried this myself yet, though. Does anyone know
whether or not this actually works? Yellow Dog 5.0.x is a Fedora Core 5
derivative, but I'm sure there are also some differences that could make
using a Fedora repo (as opposed to a Yellow Dog repo) problematic.
Unfortunately, last I checked, there is *no* Flash player at all for PowerPC
Linux. As Flash has become one of the most abused technologies on the web
IMO, having a Flash player is as important as a web browser. There's just a
huge limitation on what you can even see on the web without Flash. Lack of a
Flash player for PPC Linux is why I am switching from Apple/PPC machines to
x86/AMD. I'm really pretty POd at this point about Flash; even
RealNetworks--who aren't exactly loved by Linux people--released a Linux
version of their RealPlayer, and for PPC Linux at that! (And it's pretty
much bug-free). I really don't see why Adobe can't get at least a buggy PPC
version out the door by now.
As for Gnash, it looks like that's your best bet (apparently it's sort of
works with YouTube). Here's some links from Wikipedia about Flash on Linux:
