Hi Dan,

Wow the mailing list server is slow sometimes! I just received this late last
night.

> I'm finding that 'grep -v' doesn't seem to work as advertised.

I ran a bunch of tests with grep -v and piping and all worked as advertised.
All this seems to be doing is removing lines that match a pattern from the
original file.list.%{name}

This should work. I would check to make sure that file.list.%{name} actually
exists.

Also the $ are there to make sure the preceding phrase is only matched at the
end of the line (as in '/bin/kdesud$' and bin/kcheckpass$' )

Can you send me a copy of file.list.%{name} so that I can play around with it
to test some things out?

Perhaps there are tabs or whitespace at the end of some of the lines when
there shouldn't be and thus things that should be removed are getting through
because they are not at the end of a line.

Hope this helps,

Kevin

p.s. e-mail me directly since the list seems to be slow sometimes.

Take care,

Kevin
