A new release of mol (0.9.49) has been uploaded.
The main new features:
- Reduced overhead. MOL ought to be about 5-10 percent faster.
- BAT-mapped, write-through cached console video.
- Runs on patched 2.4 kernels.
- Improved networking. In particular, it is now possible
to communicate between MOL and linux (and yes, netatalk
works just fine).
- The tap driver is now interfaced directly without
using the sheep_net driver.
- Reduced interrupt latency.
Note that it might be necessary to reboot the machine in order
to start the new version of MOL (that is, if you have run an
older version of MOL since the last reboot). Also observe that
the molrc syntax for specifying the ethernet device has changed.
The 0.9.49 version supposedly runs on 601 machines too.
I would like to get this confirmed though. When I get
some time, I'll try to improve the 603 support too.
(Btw. I forgot to fix the L2CR problem - I'll add that in the
0.9.50 version.)
