As the subject says, I am experiencing an odd problem with my ethernet when
switching between booting the regular MacOS and using MOL.

Here is the issue:

I have a B&W G3 set up on a manually configured LAN using ethernet with
internet access through an Airport modem.

Say I have booted normally into MacOS. I surf or get mail just fine.
Now, I boot up Yellowdog linux and start MOL. I cannot get my mail or surf
the web. So, I go to the TCP/IP control panel. The control panel complains
that the "connect via" selection I was using is now gone and it is switching
to ethernet.

I close the window and save it. Now I can get to the net just fine. But, if
I reboot into MacOS, it similarly does not work again. And I have to go back
to TCP/IP. It gives me the same message about switching to ethernet, and
then I can access the net again.

What gives here? There seems to be two different and exclusive ethernets in
each session. Have I configured something wrongly?
