Actually, I discovered today that the mouse no longer worked when
booting with an oldworld ROM. I think this is due to some "improvements"
a while back which rerouted the mouse through an API related to USB.
I'll examine this problem next weekend.

Thus, either upgrade to 8.6/9.0 and use a NewWorld ROM (strongly
recommended!), or wait till this bug is fixed.
