I'm using 1024x768x60. There's no point in trying to increase the
vertical refresh on an LCD and you'll save bandwidth on the video chip SGRAMs.

What I do is to explicitely define individual partitions in molrc so that
the main HFS partition (never mounted in linux) is RW, and only the
'exchange' partition gets read-only when mounted in linux. I still need
to reboot to change it's status however.

An interesting evolution would be to have some way to dynamically
unmount/remount volumes in MacOS. Doesn't look a very difficult task, if
someone has time to hack this ;)

Another possiblity is to setup a local netatalk server and mount it from
the MacOS side. You still need to have one reserved HFS (I use HFS+ for
this one) for booting MacOS (MacOS doesn't like booting on a read-only
volume).
