Hi all,

I have been trying to use MOL-0.9.53-2 with LinuxPPC 2000 Q4 on a
Pismo 500 MHz Powerbook. I recently updated to Mac OS 9.1
International English, as well as updating to LinuxPPC 2KQ4.

While MOL worked fine with LinuxPPC 2000 and OS 9.0.4, it doesn't
work with the new setup.

I did get the new ROM from my System Folder, stripped it as usual and
installed it.

When I start MOL, it patches the kernel fine and starts. Then I get a
flashing question mark for about fifteen seconds, after which I get
the happy Mac, then immediately a bomb (Sorry, a system error
occurred -- bus error). If I click "Restart", MOL dies.

I have checked and double-checked the settings in /etc/molrc for the
startup volume -- /dev/hda9 for my Mac OS volume (if I set it to just
/dev/hda, it boots Linux and loads the LinuxPPC installer, which
obviously is pointless to run in MOL... ;-) ).

I have also tried to restore the original molrc from
/usr/doc/mol-0.9.53-2 as well as completely reinstalling MOL (rpm -e,
then rpm -ivh); I have also tried transporting the original ROM file
in various ways to make sure it isn't corrupted.

I am using a self-compiled kernel 2.2.18-4gpmac (i.e. from the
sources on the LinuxPPC 2000 Q4 CD) with XFree86-4.0.1.

I also tried searching the archives with no luck...

Any ideas?

Thanks,

John
