Hi:

I am running the latest YDL 2.0 on my Beige G3. Installed their
precompiled 2.4.4 kernel using their nicely written page (yes it works!)
on their web site. Everythings running fine and I've been really
interested in running MOL using my MacOS 9. Seemed to be doing fine
with configuring molrc and video display settings. However, I'm getting
a similar issue regarding mismatched kernel and application upon running
startmol.
I grabbed the src and ppc RPMS (v9.59) from the CD-R and the
websites. Now I'm a newbie regarding kernel builds and RPMs, but I am
comfortable with building applications from source tar balls (tar,
configure, make, install, etc). Now that I have the following RPMs, I
blindly did
    rpm -Uvh mol-0.9.59-1a.src.rpm
    rpm -Uvh mol-kmods-0.9.59-1.src.rpm
which left compressed tar balls and all sorts of patches in
/usr/src/rpm/SOURCES. How do I proceed. Where shall I uncompress/tar
and how do I install patches? Then can I simply config/make/install.
What about all this kmods stuff, do I have to recompile a kernel? Hope
I'm not over my head, but I appreciate any words of wisdom. Thanks for
any help.
