I have tried both. The built in ROM in 7600 also gives the freeze, and it
really sucks to not have the dozing ability of the G3 when you are used to
it. I am mostly using NewWorld ROM v.1.6 with MacOS 8.6.

I have tried to install system 9.<something> from within MOL with NewWorld
settings, thinking that it would solve the problem, but it did not. It was
a while since I did that though and I don't remember the details of what
happened. If I get time I can try again.
