anyone with DFP and radeon 7500 success using console?

Hey all

Has anyone been able to get this combination working?  Using .68 release here.

I have a quicksilver g4 733 w/ radeon 7500 and an apple 17" DFP.  I can't get 
console working at all (black console only , even for molvconfig test - which 
all return Y), and dga returns strange modes as well.

Suspecting from what I've gleaned from lists that its radeonfb having issues 
setting some things with DFP and/or probing them, but not positive.
