problem with bootx_installer on beige G3

i am trying to install YDL 2.2 on my beige G3/233.  I
unstuffed and ran the bootx_installer, and got the
following error message:

"Could not locate a match for a search specified by
this installer.  Installation cannot continue."

has anyone seen this before?
