Installing MacOS over YDL

What it boils down to is do you have any disk space you can assign to
MacOS? A full install will need probably about 400MB or less, but you don'
t have to make a full install if you don't want to.
The obvious thing is to use the internal HD where Linux is installed, but
it doesn't HAVE to be an internal HD. The Mac should search for and find a
valid System Folder on any disk (internal, external, removeable,) etc.
Floppies are out (no room) but a CD, Zip, CDRW, Jazz, Syquest, etc all
will work. Keep in mind that the System Folder, Control Panels and
Extensions folder off of your bootable OS install CD are all you need, a
simple copy from CD to disk should do it. A complete install should not be
necessary. The Mac needs to boot (and reboot) with a writeable System to
do the firmware upgrade, so even though you can boot from a CD you won't
be able to do the firmware upgrade with a read-only disk.

Beg or borrow a removeable drive if necessary; the other option is a
reformat (which will wipe your Linux installation).
