FIXED! -> The "KDE is -real- slow" problem: fixes fail

Answering my own question here:

The solution is to update apt-get from the default installation
prior to attempting to apt-get an update for KDE.


Once I did `apt-get install apt', I could then successfully
run `apt-get install qt'.

Rebooting now to see if anything changes.
