This is a follow up to a question put to the list earlier, which got a
little lost. It is possible to take addresses from Address Book into
YDL, although it's labor intensive. The cards Address Book produces for
iPod contacts are standard vCard files, and the main problems with them
are 1) they are exported with spaces in the filenames, and 2) they need
to have the extension (.vcf) added. for thise of you who do not export
your contacts to a 'pod, the way to export the cards is to click on the
little head icon of the contact you want to export, and drag it to the
desktop. you can then rename the file and transfer it to your YDL
machine by your preferred method. then open your address book
application and import the file. For some reason I've unfortunately
never had luck with the import function in Evolution--my preferred
e-mail/addressbook program, but Gnome Card reads the mac vcard files
perfectly. If anyone has thoughts on importing to Evolution, please let
me know.

best,
