Thank you Owen, and yes, it's Old World, PM 7500/200.
In the Install folder of the YDL 2.2 install CD the only kernels are:

vmlinux
vmlinux-2.2

No 2.4 kernel to be seen--but looking on the YDL website regarding upgrading the
kernel on YDL--TOPIC: Use kernel 2.4--at:
http://www.yellowdoglinux.com/support/solutions/ydl_2.0/kernel24.shtml

it says I can download the vmlinux-2.4.4-1a kernel from the FTP site, but I
can't find it. I need to download that while in MacOS so I can drop it in my
System Folder, then I can boot into YDL and upgrade the kernel. Please, if you
or anyone can point me to the vmlinux-2.4.4-1a kernel on FTP, that seems to be
my only hope of getting things straightened out--I've looked throughout the
downloads site, no luck.

Another possibility is to ethernet my YDL Linux box (the 7500) to a beige G3
available to me, and copy "/boot/vmlinux-2.4.4-1a" from Linux to my MacOS
partition through the G3.
Arrggh--but I don't know if I'll have the same problem with ethernet (lack of
kernel support).
May try that tonight, but I have to relocate my box near the G3. Big pain in the
butt!

To review my situation, I need to upgrade the kernel to 2.4 so I can hopefully
get PPP working, and also MOL as I've just found out. And I have no way to
transfer anything between my Linux partition and Mac partition (that I'm aware
of)

I'm new to Linux, just got it installed 5 days ago, but I'm learning fast!
