Installing more packages?

Question about installing additional standard packages.  I recently 
installed YDL 2.3 on my trusty 7500, using the Home/Office install.  I now 
wish to add in the packages that would have been included in the devlopment 
build so that I may do more advanced writing of code and compiling source 
and the like.  How do I go about doing that?
