Help! KDM login won't start on cold-boot

Hi All,

I just got my 802.11 WLAN card working great and I did a re-boot, and now
KDM will
not start. The boot sequence gets right through to the point at which KDM
normally displays it's login UI, then instead the "login localhost:" message
flashes briefly over and over again.

Any idea's.... I do not know how to boot into a console window on startup
(guess I should have learn't how to do that by now), so have no idea how to
get in and fix it. (also need pointers on how to fix it ...)
