Hello, Jim, I read your posting on the web about your TiBook. I wonder if you found a solution. I logged out of a Linux (Red Hat 7.3) session while minicom was still running. Since then, I got the same lock failed message you had. Rebooting did not help. /var/lock does not have any LCK files. I wonder if you have any idea? Thanks in advance, Lilian
