Adrian,

I have had the same problem for several weeks - I have been running as root 
until I got time to debug it. I posted a message just a few minutes ago. I 
just booted my system into the 2.2.19 kernel and so far things seem to be 
working fine. I have run for about 30 minutes and usually it would crash by 
now, although I have had it run for 30 min before crashing. Anyway you might 
try the 2.2. kernel. If this fixes it I imagine that there is a problem with 
the way the 2.4 kernel was compiled. I had the system working with ydl2.2 and 
the 2.4 kernel in the past.
