YDL 3.0 on Xserve

My experiences with 3.0 on an Xserve:

I bought one of the very latest machines from Apple, and so far have not =
been able to get 3.0 (or 2.3 for that matter) loaded on it. Apple =
apparently put a new Promise ATA controller in the new ones, and the YDL =
install disks don't see any ATA drive in the Xserve machine because of =
this. =20

The support folks at YDL are working on it, but if any one has =
ideas......

Thanks
Mike

Subject: YDL 3.0 on Xserve

I'd be interested in reports on how easily 3.0 goes onto an Xserve. I=20
have one running 2.3 now and it was a bit of work to get it on there. =20
Now she works like a dream, though.

This time, however, the YDL Xserve is the main server, so I can't=20
afford to have it down for long. That, and I work remotely (I'm 2hrs=20
from the main office) and I don't want to have to be out there for 2=20
days while everyone's on me to get the server back up...

So, some success stories would bolster my confidence. Also, I=20
understand it is not possible to upgrade from 2.3 to 3.0 but I need a=20
clean install. Is that correct?

Thanks!

-Michael
