Kernel and pmud support for the Powerbook 12" G4

I am wondering if the Powerbook 12" G4's power management functions will
be supported any time in the near future?  If not, then I guess I wasted
1700 dollars (of course that's my own fault for not reading the
supported hardware list).  Is there anything I can do to help out with
getting this working?  I've never done any kernel hacking before, but I
can help with testing and probably work on the user-space pmud daemon.
