Xine and ALSA problems

Did you try the tar> Sometimes I have better luck with -
tar -zxvf YOUR_FILE_HERE
$ cd YOUR_NEW_DIRECTORY
$ ./configure
$ make
$ make install
Slower but works everytime for me.
