3.0 ftp install fails also

Stefan,

I'm not in any way associated with Terrasoft, other than as a (usually)
satisfied customer, so this is not an official pronouncement. It's just
a caution from someone who has been in the same spot you are and learned
from the experience.

This is "free* *open source software*. That means that the vast bulk of
support must come from the user community. Terrasoft makes no guarantee
that it's releases are fit for any particular purpose, other than that
it seems to run on the systems they have tested it on. Unless you
actually paid for your CDs (i.e. you didn't download the ISOs and burn
your own), they don't owe you a thing. And even if you did pay, the
most they can owe you is to refund the CD-set's purchase price.

That said, the Yellowdog user community is a friendly group. If you are
the first person to try the release on your particular type of hardware,
we, the user community, are very interested in hearing about your
experiences. There are some pretty smart folks who read this list and
maybe some of them can help you.

If you want help, the best way to get it is to provide enough details to
allow someone to diagnose what's different about your situation from a
similar, but working, situation.

Expressions of anger and railing at Terrasoft for not spending money
they don't have to test their product on rare hardware won't help.

So now: Tell us about your configuration. Tell us the steps you have
taken in trying to get it to work. Tell us the exact error messages or
wrong behavior. Details are very important in diagnosing problems, so
be as specific as possible.

Hope this helps!

Rick
