YDL and Powerbook Firewire...

Hi all,
my trusty Powerbook Firewire G3 will soon be replaced by the 17" 
Powerbook G4. I'd like to install YDL on my trusty Powerbook and learn 
the ins and outs of Linux. Can anyone tell me if there are any issues 
for loading YDL on a PB ??
Is video acceleration available?
Will my airport card work?
I replaced the stock 12 gig hard drive with a Toshiba 30 gig--is this 
okay?
I have 1 gig of memory--is this okay.
Will my expansion bay CD/RW or stock DVD drive work? (and be able to 
watch movies)
