I have the v1, it has SNMP support.  Turn on logging and then fire up a 
snmptrapd on the client you pointed the router at.  There are docs about 
the 'secret' page that allows extra logging at dslreports.com.  There are 
also a few simple utilites out there menat to parse the Linksys SNMP 
output without having to run net-snmpd - see freshmeat.  

IIRC, other models (and possibly the BEFW11S4 v{2,3})) have syslog support 
instead of SNMP, which could work just as well.

Agreed, this sucks. There's a signifigant speed difference when I plug any 
of my 10/100 machines into my cable modem directly (which does 10/100 even 
if it's capped at 768k).  This may be linksys' appeasment to the brodband 
industry (eg: self limiting hardware keeps people from doing 'too much' 
with their home connection..)

Either way, it's still better than dialup and it's not like I don't have a 
big fat pipe at work (the fringe benifit of working at a Research 
University :)
