apt_get problems all over the place!!!

Hello All,

I'm installing YDL 3.0 on a iMac revision A.  The install went fine.  
But every since the first attempt to run "apt-get update" I have been 
getting errors.  At one point when I do a "apt-get upgrade" I get a 
list saying that I need to remove abotu 100 packages, and reinstall 
about 100 to meet dependencies.

I also had to change the /etc/apt/sources.list to reflect packages.main 
and not packages.base which doesn't exist where its looking for it.

Has anyone else had these problems, or know of the solution?
