iMac Rev D - XFree86 configuration failure

I'm quite stumped on trying to get X to work on my imac rev D (Yellow Dog 
3.0).  I've tried running Xautoconfig and I still get a unproductive Xwindow 
session, windows don't show up along with menu options.  Its worked before, but 
when I did a reinstall it no longer works.  Is there a place where I can 
download a X86config file that works on a Rev D iMac?  Xconfigurator does not 
work, since its not installed...
