Maybe I'm not up-to-date (I am new to YDL, I used other distros in 
the past), but I don't think that miBoot looks at yaboot.conf at all. 
It only looks at its own resources. Among those strings are the 
kernel parameters, which should be identical to the ones you'd use 
from bootX.

So it probably looks in the wrong partition.
